‘Goldener Löwe’ cultural centre
Make way for the Golden Lion
The Goldener Löwe today is back to its roaring best as a gathering place for art and culture enthusiasts in beautiful Wandlitz. Idyllically located in Wandlitz’s historic town centre, visitors can enjoy music events, cabaret, guest theatre performances, readings and exhibitions at this historic venue. It can also be used for meetings, conferences and private functions – a diverse programme that has far from exhausted its artistic repertoire.
Celebrating life at the village pub
There is evidence dating back to the Middle Ages to suggest that the present-day site, or at least very close to it, was once home to a village pub. Demolished or burned down on multiple occasions, but always rebuilt, two dancing ballrooms, one small and one large, were added in the late 19th century, encouraging social get-togethers. The Goldener Löwe’s golden age came in the 1920s and ‘30s. Be it weddings, harvest thanksgivings or New Year, there was always a reason to celebrate.
Watching, listening to and admiring Wandlitz
Old becomes new, for the large ballroom is today once again the heart of this stunning complex, fusing creativity with historic tradition.
A roaring sensation indeed!
